Recently we were involved in the investigation of a project located on the north end of the Dominican Republic for a 20-story ocean front high-rise. The recovered soils consisted of clean sands and silts susceptible to the liquefaction phenomena, up to a depth of 15 m. The geotechnical investigation is paramount before the construction stage of any project.
