Recently we participated in a geotechnical investigation for a proposed overpass on one of the busiest highways in Dominican Republic. Due to traffic and despite the existing conditions, we considered all safety measures to achieve a safe work environment. Borings were drilled up to 25 m deep in basalt, mostly.
